Who we are
KINN-WELD LTD is the controller responsible for personal data collected through kinnweldgroup.com and in connection with our store. Company No. SC648645. Registered office: Argyll House, Quarrywood Court, Livingston, Scotland, EH54 6AX, United Kingdom. Privacy contact: support@kinnweldgroup.com.
Information we collect
Identity and contact data, such as name, billing and delivery addresses, email address and telephone number.
Order and transaction data, such as products purchased, payment status, refunds and delivery information. Payment card details are generally handled by payment providers rather than stored directly by us.
Account and communication data, such as login details, customer service messages, reviews and preferences.
Technical and usage data, such as IP address, device/browser information, cookie identifiers, pages viewed, referral data and interactions with our store and advertising.
Marketing preferences and consent records.
How and why we use personal data
To accept, fulfil, deliver, return and refund orders, and to communicate about them — necessary to perform our contract with you.
To provide support, prevent fraud, secure the store, enforce our terms and improve operations — based on our legitimate interests and, where relevant, legal obligations.
To maintain accounting, tax, product safety and legal records — necessary to comply with legal obligations.
To personalise the store, measure performance and understand customer use — based on legitimate interests or consent, depending on the technology and applicable law.
To send marketing and use advertising technologies, including Google Ads — with consent where required, or as otherwise permitted by law. You can opt out at any time.
Who receives personal data
We may share data only as reasonably necessary with Shopify and store technology providers; payment processors; fulfilment, postal and courier providers; customer support, hosting, security, analytics and advertising providers (including Google); professional advisers, insurers and authorities; and a buyer or successor in a business reorganisation. These recipients process information under their own notices or under contractual instructions, depending on their role.
International transfers
Some service providers may process personal data outside the United Kingdom. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards, such as UK adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to approved standard contractual clauses, together with supplementary measures where appropriate.
Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as needed for the purposes described, including fulfilment, support, dispute resolution, fraud prevention and legal obligations. Transaction and tax records are normally kept for up to six years after the relevant accounting period where required. Retention may be longer for an active dispute, safety matter or legal hold, and shorter where information is no longer necessary.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to be informed, access your data, correct inaccurate data, erase data, restrict processing, object to processing, receive portable data and withdraw consent. You may also object to direct marketing at any time. These rights can be subject to legal conditions and exemptions.
To exercise a right, email support@kinnweldgroup.com. We may request information needed to verify identity. We normally respond within one month, although the law may permit an extension for complex or numerous requests.
Complaints
Please contact us first so we can try to resolve the issue. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
Our store is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children who cannot lawfully provide consent. If you believe a child has supplied data improperly, contact us.
Security and changes
We use reasonable organisational and technical measures designed to protect personal data, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We may update this policy to reflect changes in law, technology or operations. The current version will be posted with its updated date.
